Datathon #EUSpace4Ukraine

From June 29 to July 1st, Web2Learn with three teams of 13 HE staff and students participated in the #EUSpace4Ukraine datathon. The event encouraged participants to use space data to tackle the consequences of the Ukrainian war, in particular its humanitarian crisis dimension.

With the support of Web2Learn, the teams submitted three Challenges its.

One team submitted the Challenge “Cultural heritage under threat” that aimed to leverage space data, earth observations and citizen-led data to monitor damages to Ukrainian cultural heritage. The team won the third place at this pan-European competition!

The second team submitted a Challenge on “Displacement and social impact”, aiming to use space data to provide adequate information and support to displaced persons.

The third team submitted a Challenge on “Earth observations for environmental data”.
